An endocrinologist treats conditions related to hormonal balance (diabetes, thyroid, adrenal). Many issues affecting weight, energy and reproductive health are linked to the endocrine system.
If you have persistent fatigue, unexplained weight changes, hair loss or menstrual irregularities, thyroid function tests (TSH, T3, T4) are recommended.
Fasting blood glucose, HbA1c and an oral glucose tolerance test are standard for diabetes diagnosis. HbA1c is monitored every 3-6 months in existing patients.
Hormonal causes often present as unexplained rapid weight gain combined with fatigue. Blood tests evaluate thyroid, adrenal function and insulin resistance.
